Hello, I am Elodie
I am a project manager and a parent, living abroad as an expat in Paris, France.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a whole new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to France wasn’t in the long-range plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — new processes, new routines, new expectations. Daily chores felt more complex than expected.
The Adaptation Phase
There was culture shock, ambiguity, and much learning by doing. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began developing something that felt steady.
Why I Created DawnCanyonTundra
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or superficial tourism content. What was missing was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in France.
What This Website Represents (And What It Doesn’t)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in France
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism board resource
- Not a sponsored review site
- Not a general travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in France continues, and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Paris or anywhere in France, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Elodie
